Meachers Global Logistics Is the Latest Business to Join the Gateway Club

Today the Southampton 2025 Trust welcomes Meachers Global Logistics as the latest business to become a member of the Gateway Club, a business membership community created to support Southampton’s bid to become UK City of Culture 2025.

With its head office in Southampton, Meachers Global Logistics originated as a family-owned business in the late 1940s and is now one of the UK’s leading independent providers of international freight and transport logistic services.

Upon joining the Gateway Club,  Commercial Director, Gary Whittle said: “With a strong connection to the Port of Southampton for more than 60 years, Meachers Global Logistics is firmly established in the heritage of the city; and has strong links not only with local businesses but those far and wide. We’re delighted that we can play a part in helping to connect Southampton with cities globally through the work that we do and by helping to raise awareness of its important UK port.”


He continued, “Southampton has so much to offer visitors, residents, and businesses, and is steeped in history. We are delighted to be supporting Southampton as it bids to become the UK’s City of Culture for 2025 and would definitely encourage other businesses to back the bid. Winning would benefit the local economy and encourage investment and interest in the city.”
