Good luck messages have flooded in from Southampton’s residents and organisations and from around the world as the city submits its bid to be UK City of Culture 2025.

Craig David, one of our ambassadors, led the way with his message championing his inclusive and talented hometown of Southampton.

Messages from business, organisations, artists, school children and community groups were released across Southampton2025 social channels, really supporting the team and the city as they crossed the finish line for submitting the bid.

Hampshire Constabulary, Southampton Football Club, Saints Foundation, both of the city’s universities, bid ambassadors, museums, community outreach groups and many more all sent their heart-felt wishes to Southampton.

The flood of excitement for Southampton’s bid to be UK City of Culture 2025 was amplified by the city’s iconic Bargate monument being lit in red on Monday evening, with the Southampton 2025 branding projected onto it, catching the eye of Sotonians.
