The 2025 UK City of Culture is soon to be revealed, with the DCMS shining a spotlight on each of the four shortlisted locations on designated days.

Southampton will be celebrated on Tuesday 24 May, and you are all invited to get involved in showing your support to Make It SO! We’d like to create some noise across all our social media channels, which you can follow here.

Here are just some of the ways you can join in via our social media channels!

1. HAND SIGN: Make the S and/or an O with your hands and share it on your socials #MakeitSO #CityofCulture2025 #DCMS 

2. OVER 150 LANGUAGES:  In Southampton, there are over 150 languages including British Sign Language – we would love to share “Make it SO” in as many of the city’s languages as possible!

3. Reshare DCMS’ POSTS: Keep an eye out on Tuesday 24 May over on the DCMS channels for their posts about Southampton.
